We love to sing, and we love where we live; community is really important to us. With that in mind, we have values that underpin what we do:

  • To teach, perform and promote women’s a cappella singing within our community.

  • To operate ‘not for profit’.

With those values in mind, North Coast Harmony takes singing in to our communities, be that at pop up singouts (think busking without collecting money), being involved in community events such as Christmas light switch ons or charity events, singing with local primary school children, or giving informative talks and performances to local groups.

These events make up the majority of our performances, and we work hard to ensure that when we perform, we sound as good as we possibly can. We are ambassadors for a cappella harmony and community singing, and we want others to benefit from it as much as we do. That might be through the enjoyment gained by listening to us perform, or perhaps by helping other organisations to fundraise, or maybe even by joining us!

Although we are always happy to accept payment, we perform for free at community events or events that aim to raise money for local charities and ‘not for profit’ groups. Instead, we prefer to just accept donations, of whatever is affordable, should the organiser wish to make one.

We also have relationships with other singing groups in our wider community across Cornwall. There are many different types of group, for all abilities, styles and ages, and we’re happy to provide contact details for other organisations, if we feel that a different group would be more suitable. Singing should be accessible to everyone, and sometimes it’s a case of finding the best fit. We can help potential singers find an organisation that suits them, be that a traditional male voice choir, ladies barbershop chorus, youth choir, or perhaps even cave singing! Through our professional contacts, we’ve even helped someone find a group 150 miles away!

Our ethos is that singing should be for all, to listen to or participate in. If you’d like us to perform at your event, or you want to sing with us, or maybe you’d like help finding another type of group, please contact us.
